Testimonial

I was encouraged by this testimonial I recieved in the mail, I want to share it with everyone. It said:
Pastor Senyonga,
Although I've forgotten your first name I'll never forget when you came to my church in Belville Washington and spoke for an extended week. The Holy Spirit was present and many gave their hearts to the Lord. One of them was my brother in law Tommy. He frequently reminds me that your teachings "saved" him. You also saved their marriage. Praise God for your work for our Lord and His children.

The Pillowcase Project

How many of us have tons of extra clothes lying around in our closets that have never been worn? Some of you are probably like me in that you actually have clothes that still have tags on them. Can you imagine a life in which you only had one or two outfits? The little girls in our orphanages live that life. They don’t have the luxury of going into a closet full of various options. So we are going to partner with The Pillowcase Project to make pillowcase dresses for the 375 plus girls in the Seeta and Lira Villages.

This is a project that I want you to partner with our ministry in making happen. There are various ways that you can participate in this project.

First, we will be hosting a local Pillowcase Project in our office in the month of May. We will have several people come together with sewing machines in tow to starting making our first batch of dresses. If you live in the area we would love to have you join us. You don’t have to know how to sew to be part of this as we need people to cut, iron, and hand stitch. We need all the people we can to make this a success!

Second, if you live somewhere else but want badly to help in some way you can do so my sending supplies to our office. You can send pillow cases, fabric, ribbons, and buttons to our office so that we can use them to make the dresses.

Third, host your own Pillowcase Project and send the final product to the office. We will provide you with the proper information on how to make the dresses. You get together your church group or a group of friends and start sewing.

I am getting very excited about the projects and getting these dresses to our girls. We are already talking with a fashion designer to see if we can get a basic pattern made in order to make shorts for the boys. If we don’t come up with a way to make them we will actually buy them clothing there in Uganda so we will also be taking cash donations. If you prefer to make a cash donation to help with supplies please specify this in the check memo by writing “Pillowcase Project”.

Please send any ideas, comments or questions to me, Jana Kitts, at the office: j.kitts@christianlifeministries.org or call me at 972-307-5433.

Also, hoping to making headbands with bows and flowers to match the dress!!

Travels

This past month has been a very busy month of traveling to speak to many people about what the Lord is doing in our ministry. Upon returning from Uganda I have been out of the state every weekend to speak at various churches.

I traveled to Colorado Springs, CO and Grants Pass, OR the first weekend I returned. The followeng weekend I returned to Colorado Springs to speak at a different church. I then traveled to Flagstaff, AZ and Greenwich, CT this past weekend. God is doing some great things in this ministry and it has been interesting to see what he is doing.

There is one place I have asked God not to send me and He has decided to send me anyway. This weekend I will be traveling to Ketchikan, Alaska. I am excited to see why God has sent me this way but am nervous about the cold weather. Pray that I stay warm.
Blessings,
Jackson Senyonga

Transformation

This is really neat to see the transformation of the orphans as they go from IDP Camp to the Lira Village. Hope you enjoy seeing this as much as I do.

Yours

Yesterday as I was working in the offie this song came ont he radio and caught my attention. The song is Yours by Steven Curtis Chapman. I thought I would share this with you today.

I walk the dirt roads of Uganda
I see the scars that war has left behind
Hope like the sun is fading
They're waiting for a cure no one can find

And I hear children's voices singing
Of a God who heals and rescues and restores
And I'm reminded
That every child in Africa is Yours

And its all Yours, God, Yours, God
Everything is Yours
From the stars in the sky
To the depths of the ocean floor
And its all Yours, God, Yours, God
Everything is Yours
You're the Maker and Keeper, Father and Ruler of everything
It's all Yours
May God continue to take care of and bless the children in the homes in our villages! I feel honored that he has allowed me to be used as vessell to find homes for some many of these little children. These children are such a blessing in our lives as we get to see them live in joy despite difficult life circumstances! Praise the Lord from whom all blessings flow!
Blessings,

House Mums

I would like to recognize the women who take care of our orphans. These women go above and beyond as they care for each of our little ones. I cannot imagine what it is like to take care of 12 kids inside my home like these women do. To feed them, get them to school, love on them, care for them when they are sick and on and on I could go. We are very greatful for these women!
Consider sponsoring a house mum! Check out the information regarding sponsoring a house mum on our website, http://www.christianlifeministries.org/orphan-house-moms.html

Volunteers Needed

I know many of you do not live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, but if you do we could use your help in our office. We send out newsletters once a month and this is a large task for a small office. Also, soon we will be working on progress reports for all of our children which is a very large task for our small office. If you or anyone you know would like to volunteer in the office your help would be greatly appreciate. Contact our offices at info@christianlifeministries.org if you would like to help with this!

Happiness Among Children

Visiting Uganda was such a blessing for both Eve & I. As we were spending time in the villages I enjoyed watching the children play and interact together. It truly is like watching the kids playing at a party. All you can hear is laughter and chatter as they cover the grounds of the village.

A time to weep and a time to laugh,
A time to mourn and a time to dance.
Ecclesiastes 3:4
I am so grateful to God that our children are now in a time to laugh and a time to dance. It is a joy for me to see them doing so well and enjoying their lives as much as they do. It's always refreshing for me to visit Uganda again and see our vision living out actively.

Transformation

I cannot be more thankful to God for rescuing such a sweet angel like this. When I see pictures like this I am reminded of our mission in building these villages. I love that when you look at the second picture you see the absolute transformation that has been made since she began living in the Lira Village. What a beautiful picture of God's grace in our lives!

For he will deliver the needy who cry out, the afflicted who have no one to help. He will take pity on the weak and the needy and save the needy from death. He will rescue them from oppression and violence, for precious is their blood in his sight.
Psalm 72:12-14

Mission Minded

I ran across a picture today of two of our sponsors with the children they sponsor. They had entitled the picture "Our Uganda Children, Joseph and Joyce" Seeing this picture was such a blessing to me to see that these sponsors have made a connection with their children.

With all that being said, you have the oppurtunity to meet your children through our Mission Trips. It is not too late for you to go this summer! We leave July 23rd and would love for you to join us. The other trip date is set for December 29th.

Rice Donation

We are so grateful to God for blessing Seeta Village with a rice donation from Tilda Uganda Ltd! This donation was put together by one of our sponsors Macodou N’Daw! We are so very grateful for his love of our children and getting this donation to our village. Thank you Macodou for going above and beyond!

Read Matthew 25:31-46 The final parable regarding the sheep and the goat. Christ says in vs. 44-45 44"They also will answer, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?'
45"He will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.'

I believe that Macodou has obeyed the scriptures in getting this donation provided for and for that we are truly grateful.

Easter

Good Friday for too many is a good excuse for a day off, a head start to a long weekend, or the anticipation of the Easter bunny. However, for us, we get to celebrate the death & resurrection of Christ Jesus this weekend. What a glorious thing we get to celebrate!

May we be reminded of the cross through the lyrics of the Old Rugged Cross.

In that old rugged cross, stained with blood so divine, a wondrous beauty I see, for 'twas on that old cross Jesus suffered and died, to pardon and sanctify me.

What a beautiful message we can find in the cross of Jesus Christ. May we simply remember John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he sent his only son, that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Today let us each remember the real meaning of Easter. Imagine the cross and Christ’s death on that cross. Remember how he came to this world to die on a cross for our salvation. Let us anxiously await the returning of our King!

I pray that each of you has a joyous Easter weekend!

Because of Calvary,
