Jesus Provides during a drought.

In times of drought there are lessons to be learned for all of us. One example would be the story of Jesus in the wilderness where he fed five-thousand people. Before he performed the miracle of multiplication, he instructed the gigantic crowd to split up into groups of fifty. After they were split into smaller groups he asked that they all sit down. By sitting down the crowd showed that they had patience for and trust in Jesus Christ. After they sat Jesus multiplied the bread and the fish. The crowd started with just five loaves of bread and two fish, but they watched in disbelief as Jesus performed a miracle. With a minimal amount of food he was able to feed thousands of hungry people!

Now take this story and apply it to this financial drought. Imagine that God is asking us to wait patiently on him and focus our attention to him.

In times like this we MUST remember, Christ is our providing Lord, EVEN in the unknown wilderness.

Turn your devastation into desperation for God.

In these desperate and devastating times of financial challenges there is a lot of harm is spreading across the country. People are losing their jobs, parents can no longer take care of their families efficiently, the unemployed find it hard to get a job, and crime is rising as wages are going down.

Still there is one positive thing that we can do in these negative times, that is to take all of our frustrations and disappointments and pour them to the Lord through prayer. There is a pattern in the Bible through all ages, in desperate times people have always cried out to God and God ALWAYS answered. I am a strong believer that as a nation if we turn to the Lord, God will not only hear us, he will restore what we lost and even surpass some of our expectations.

Can you imagine having a financial crisis that does not come at the end of the month, but is a daily burden in your life?

Or being born into poverty and having no say what so ever in rising out of that life style. That is the unfortunate situation for many people of Africa. Again, this is not by choice, and it is not because they are lazy. It is because of the systematic poverty challenges that have infested the way of life in Africa. It is true that some people in Africa are experiencing financial growth, but the majority of the citizens do not. For most people education is not a guarantee in Africa, and success is a farfetched concept. In fact, most believe if they ever do succeed, that it only happened due to a fluke in the system.

I believe this financial season will pass, but we will always have our dependence on God’s sovereignty through our lifetimes. I encourage everyone to reflect on the challenges that face people around the globe before you think to complain about your situation.
