No Unemployment in Heaven

There is no unemployment in the Kingdom of Heaven! I have used this in many of my sermons, but I find it a particularly crucial message in today’s times. So many times, we let our thinking be based on the kingdom of this earth rather than the Kingdom of Heaven. In the world, we feel there is a law of scarcity at work. For example, if someone at work gets a promotion, we feel threatened, and instead of rejoicing freely with their success, we instead feel jealousy because it could mean less for us, or so we think. However, Jesus asks us to do something far greater. He models out for us a giving lifestyle. He gave freely, not expecting anything in return, and demonstrated that when you give, there is a return that comes from the Father.

Acts 20:35 reads, “In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.' "

During this time of economic hardship, we tend to fight for our own. Our minds turn more towards lack of resources. However, we have much to be grateful for! In God’s Kingdom, there is always enough, but are we, as God’s people, being generous with what we have been given or are we hoarding treasures on this earth? Are we living like this is the end of the story? Or, are we eternally focused, Kingdom minded, and believing that there is no unemployment in the true Kingdom and our Father is truly a provider who loves to give good gifts to His children?

God will save America!

Is it true that America has reached a point beyond human help? Is it true that the layers of unconsistency and disobedience are so thick that it will require a great move of God to peel them off the fabric of the nation? When you watch the media or hear talk shows, it may sound and feel that way, but I believe as we commit to strategic, coordinated, desperate prayer, God is able to transform this beloved nation. For sure we cannot heal ourselves but God promised that He will!

2 Chronicles 7:14 -- if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Isaiah 25:9

Today in my devotional, I read Isaiah 25 verse 9. It is about an answered prayer to waiting people. In brief, it says one day you shall say, “This is our God. We have waited for him.”

I pray that you’ll experience this in your own life and be able to say, “This is my God!” Not once… Not twice… but many times!

But as you wait upon the Lord, I pray that you see him come through for you.

Full time lovers and followers of our God, it’s a lifetime commitment. Lifetime is not too long to love our God. Getting the Message to the World

Getting the message to the world. Matthew 28:19

Maximizing the Kingdom in this generation must require us to use all the available tools, like the internet, twitter, blogging, and mass media initiative. As it has been said, the message (of the Gospel) is always the same but the method must keep changing to reach our changing world. When the message changes, it becomes a mess… but its not a mess but a message in this mass world.

Use your tools to spread the message of Christ.

Staying At It

I have been reminded of a story when Peter had fished all night and caught nothing. Jesus came to Peter and told him to go back to the lack and fish. Peter said we have done this before and caught nothing... Nevertheless, because it is your word, I will do it. They did and caught a lot of fish.

Remember, Peter didn't go to another lake, use another boat, or buy new nets. He changed his attitude and stayed at it with Jesus's command.

Miracles will happen in familiar places if you do the same...

Inspirational Story

I found this story also on New Vision. It is the story of a woman whose leg was severed by a bomb. While such an injury would be one that could devestate the life of the victim, Rose Lukwago Barigayomwe picked herself up and "ignited her will to succeed".

This story touched me because I am inspired by people who come from awful situations and turn it into good. I am faithful that the Lord will help me transform the orphans touched by our ministry into productive members of society, even though they come from an unpleasant past.

Please pray with me today to help our children learn from bad experiences and turn them into motivation for a positive future!

Refusing to be Refused!

In modern days, we call this desperation. Do you know what could happen if we engage in desperate prayers?

In the days of the Bible, Judges 6:9-10 talks about the children of Isral refusing to take no for an answer from God. They took their prayers into overdrive and prayed desperately. The answer finally came. God finally came through.

Let's take our prayers to the next level. Let's desperately seek God's help in turning lives to Christ and helping the poor and suffering of the world.

Inspiration from Job

I was reading Job this morning, and I was inspired. There were a few things that really put me back in my chair.

I admire Job's:

- tenacity to not deny his integrity in midst of his calamities

- resistance of negative influences even from his closest friends

- faith in God to see better days even after his challenges

These three characteristics should be part of our lives everyday. This month, let's strive to create good habits and use Job as an example for our fortitude and faith.
