A Mission to Transform Uganda

“Transforming Uganda 2010 – The Experience”

We are starting registration for next year’s short term mission trip to transform Uganda. This mission trip, taking place in July of 2010, will give you the opportunity to hug a widow, love on precious orphans, experience the Ugandan prayer movement, take a safari, and use your skills and God-given passion to touch people through life-giving ministry like medical outreaches, schools, evangelism and church planting, orphan program, business training program to our young entrepreneurs, worship and arts, sites and sounds IT outreaches, construction, etc.

If you individually or as a group are interested, please let us know so we can make arrangements for this exciting trip next year.

Thank you and God bless,

Luncheon With Pastors Continues

Today, I continue to work with pastors to create partnerships. Basically, churches help us gain sponsors by looking to their congregation. If you think your church would be interested, please let me know!! It is the most successful way we have been able to pick up sponsors for our orphan children our orphan villages in Uganda, and we would love information about your church if we aren't already working with them.

Please email me with your church information: pastor.senyonga@gmail.com

God's best be with each and every one of you today! Have a terrific Tuesday!

Meet Betty

Meet Betty Nalukwago

Betty is an orphan, who came to our village as the whereabouts of her family is unknown. It is very likely that her parents were killed or they both died of AIDS, as this is the most common thread with the children that come to our village. She was hungry, needing clean clothing and a roof over her head Betty had nobody to love her and teach her. School most definitely was not an option for Betty as there are fees to attend school. Her future looked bleak, until now!

Under “Christian Life Ministries” “Homes for the orphans” project, Betty was chosen to come to one of the orphan home villages where there are other orphans from similar backgrounds that live together as a large family. Each home, which houses 12 children, has a widow or single woman that raises the children up in a loving, Christian family home.

Betty has had a tough time already in her young life. She is adjusting well to her new life, she loves reading. She says, "I thank God for my new family, brothers and sisters”. Her prayer request is for all her relatives to accept Jesus in their life. Because of you her prayers are being answered and she is able to live in a Christian community that will meet her needs.

Consider becoming Betty's sponsor so that we can continue to care for her and so that she can have hope in humanity when receiving love from you!

Anna Phillip's Girls Kick It! Program

I just read this article on the Washington Times website. It is about a young lady, Anna Phillips, who has greated a program in Uganda called "Girls Kick It!" that uses commitment to her favorite sport, soccer, as a life changing experience to help girls and women of Uganda turn their lives around. Ms. Phillips describes the theory behind this organization, "We have found when girls have a commitment at an early age, it is less likely they will marry young or get pregnant or contract HIV."

The girls and women in the program practice three to five days per week and attend life training classes that discuss pertinent issues like self-respect, prevention of AIDS, and importance of teamwork. In America, these traits are taken for granted. In Uganda, a woman with this knowledge is a rare gem. In Uganda, women without guidance and hope are often subject to young marriages, starvation, poverty, and more. Programs like Girls Kick It! strive to break this cycle by reinforcing positive and strong characteristics of the women of Uganda.

New Photos on Flickr

I have posted new photos from the 2009 Short Term Mission Trip. I think these photos illustrate how much different our organization is than others that seem like us on the surface.

First, you will notice that visitors are given the opportunity to meet face to face the child(ren) that they sponsor. Each child is either fully sponsored by only one person or partially sponsored by two. These children write letters in appreciation for your support and consider their sponsors as family.

Second, you will notice that there is some fun involved in this trip. We offer a safari of Africa during your visit. Plus, our visitors usually have a great time visiting with the children and house moms.

If you are interested in going on a Mission Trip next year, please let us know: info@christianlifeministries.org
