Heavy Rain Expected for Following Seasons in Uganda

According to weather experts, Uganda is expected to be hit by heavy rains through the months of September-December. Because so many people depend on walking as their main form of transportation, rain in Uganda slows things down. However, it is a good thing for agriculture, which is a major industry in Uganda's economy.

Please take a second to pray for our children, who have about a five minute walk to school each morning and afternoon. They will be drenched pretty regularly if the weather expert is correct! Please prayer for their health that the rain doesn't cause any illnesses due to the cold.

Thank you for your time and prayer!

God's best for all of you!

Update on William's Condition

I have received many messages from you all regarding William's condition. For those of you who aren't aware, my brother, William, was in a serious auto accident earlier this month in Uganda. He was knocked unconcious and suffered many injuries.

William is recovering well. He is no longer required to be on Oxygen supply. It is going to take several months for a full recovery, but he is expected to recover back to his original condition. He suffered wounds to the head and multiple fractures to his legs. He will be on crutches for a while. He is on strong medications for his head, and he will be taking a CAT Scan soon to see that all is recoving steadily since the accident.

Thank you for all your prayers. God has remained by William's side and given comfort to our family.

Funny Story in New Vision

When leaving her child with a sitter, Mama Vivian told her sitter to make sure the baby is fed on time. Due to a language barrier and miscommunication, Mama Vivian arrived home to find food loaded up on her wall clock, which was used as a plate for the child.

I just thought this was a little funny to think about. Can you imagine?

Consider becoming a sponsor

Please consider becoming a sponsor. We have so many children that we would love to take in, but we cannot do so unless they have sponsors.

Full sponsorship only runs $60 per month per child. How amazing is it that we can give a child new hope for only $60 per month? This $60 takes care of all his/her needs. Or, you can do a partial sponsorship for $30. This way, you and one other sponsor will provide care for one child.

If you cannot dedicate that sum of money each month, consider becoming an advocate for these children. Do things within you community to get sponsors. Have an art or pottery show to raise awareness. Or, fundraise to provide sponsorships. Bake sales? Craft sales? Etc.

We appreciate any help you can give. If you'd like more ideas, please call or email us: info@christianlifeministries.org or 972-307-LIFE.

God bless you for your help and support!

New Photos on Flickr

I have posted new photos from the 2009 Short Term Mission Trip. I think these photos illustrate how much different our organization is than others that seem like us on the surface.

First, you will notice that visitors are given the opportunity to meet face to face the child(ren) that they sponsor. Each child is either fully sponsored by only one person or partially sponsored by two. These children write letters in appreciation for your support and consider their sponsors as family.

Second, you will notice that there is some fun involved in this trip. We offer a safari of Africa during your visit. Plus, our visitors usually have a great time visiting with the children and house moms.

If you are interested in going on a Mission Trip next year, please let us know: info@christianlifeministries.org

Reaching the Lost

Did you know that witnessing or reaching the lost does not come by gifting but by obedience? It is not about picking and choosing about whether it is your gift to reach out to your friends and share Christ with them. It is a command. It is a mandate. We must reach the lost at all costs because people are lost forever. When was the last time you talked to somebody about the Lord? You don't need to sound preachy. Just share your experience of what God has done in your life and watch God do the rest.

Partnership with Alpha USA

Can you imagine what marrying with a ministry that is doing nothing but reaching out through evangelism and discipleship can do? That's exactly what Christian Life Church is doing with this wonderful ministry called Alpha USA. We have a lot of people praying everyday through the week that Alpha will be successful on all fronts. As they train churches and organizations on how to reach their communities and cities for Christ. Our prayer teams in Uganda are really pumped up for this, and from one of my last conversations with one of the Alpha leaders, they are excited to see that good things are happening within the ministry.

Thank God for this type of relationship and partnership.

Television Station

TOP (Tower of Praise) Television in Uganda is reaching peoples' lives by informing, enpowering, and entertaining. Since we started it, God has used it again to carry the signal to places that might not otherwise be exposed to God's great word, including high profile homes in Muslim communities that don't accept Jesus. God has used this medium to introduce Himself to millions. TOP Television has partnered with Daystar TV to carry its programs several hours per day, and it is wonderful!

Our Radio Stations

Its amazing what mass communication can do! Since we started our radio stations ten years ago, in places where we planted these stations across the nations, the number of churches and believers have increased. In some towns, within six months after the launch of the stations, there has been a significant increase in spirituality among the people who visit churches. We normally offer free air time to local pastors in those communities to come and share on the radio. In some situations, those pastors' churches grow so fast that they expand in just a few months. It is humbling to see that God can use our simple obedience to reach close to ten million people everyday with a positive message!

Good News from Seeta

We got a call from a church in Nevada that is interested in revamping our on-site clinic at our orphanage in Seeta. They want to sponsor another full time nurse as well as part time medical doctor. They're also looking into establishing a dental clinic at the same location including sponsorship/paying for a dentist to take care of the children.

This is great news!!

I will be bringing you to speed about this. Meanwhile... I appreciate your ongoing prayers for us, the children, and the whole ministry at large!

Please Pray With Me!!

My brother, William, had a terrible accident just yesterday. He was driving 100+ miles away from Kampala. In an effort to save two bicycle riders on both sides (which he did), the van overturned 3 times with him and 6 others on board. He was the only one that was seriously injured. He was knocked unconcious for hours. He has recoved conciousness and is back to his senses after oxygen was put on him, but he is still in not so good of condition. The doctors are optimistic.

Please pray for him and the other passengers in that van. Thank God that he is still alive and that no others sustained major injuries. Ask God for a quick recovery for all involved.

Thank you for your help. William needs God's favor.

Obedience Based Living

Isiah 1:18 says...

If you're willing and obedient, you will eat the good of the land.

There is a condition "if" which means humna nature is not always ready to give in. Then, there is a promise... "you'll eat the good of the land." What is our first instinct to God's voice? What is our first reaction after we hear from Him? Is it that of, "Yes, Lord. Whatever you say," or do we first think, "What's in it for me?"

Instead of thinking of the inconvenience or lack of obvious personal gain, give in to God's request. Make it your first instince, your first reaction to act according to His will!

God's Timing in our Lives

I was reading Psalms 31 a couple of days ago, and I could hear the hearts of the Psalmists wanting deliverance right now (Yesterday, actually!). At the same time, they were wise enough to sumbit to God's sovereign wisdom and timing. He cried out and said, "My time is in your hands." We know that God is never too late, never too early, and always on time! But that time is not of an earthly clock.

Let us be assured that His time and timing is the best. When God comes finally, yesterday's pain doesn't matter anymore.

New Revelation

A new revelation is your key to a new break through. Sometimes what we really need is not a miracle but a revelation of how a miracle can happen. In chaotic situations, before anything good comes out, light must come first. In Genesis 1, after the creation, everything was void and dark. Before God could create anything, he said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.

That is revelation. That is illumination. Illumination comes before the miraculous!

Search within your self to illuminate your heart to find a revelation of how a miracle can happen. Make that your goal this week.

Psalms 77

I was reading Psalms 77, and I was overwhelmed about the desperation from the Psalmists in the Bible asking God to renew his works as in the days of old. That came from meditation of what God had done earlier.
This means the more you recall what God has done in your life, the more you will hunger for him.

Have a Merry Monday!

High School Students Create Radio Transmitter

This story caught my eye. High school students at Uganda Martyrs’ High School in Rubaga created a faultless radio signal. They used toys, televisions, etc. to find parts for the project. They created a signal using diodes and were able to transmit those signals onto a radio receiver. They featured the archbishop on the show and discussed touchy issues. What an amazing feat for high school students!

Patches the Horse... Just for Fun!

I got an email with a funny video. It is about this horse, Patches, that really thinks it is human! It rides in the car, tries to talk on the phone, sits on the couch... It just tickled me!

If you would like me to send this video on to you, please email me at pastor.senyonga@gmail.com. This should cheer up your week!

Inspirational Story

I found this story also on New Vision. It is the story of a woman whose leg was severed by a bomb. While such an injury would be one that could devestate the life of the victim, Rose Lukwago Barigayomwe picked herself up and "ignited her will to succeed".

This story touched me because I am inspired by people who come from awful situations and turn it into good. I am faithful that the Lord will help me transform the orphans touched by our ministry into productive members of society, even though they come from an unpleasant past.

Please pray with me today to help our children learn from bad experiences and turn them into motivation for a positive future!

Global Fund delivers 30 tonnes of HIV/AIDS drugs

I found this article on New Vision (a news site for Uganda). Global Fund has delivered loads of medicine. In addition, the article briefly talks about the Uganda AIDS Commission and what they are doing to prevent further spread of this disease. This is great news for Uganda because HIV and AIDS are responsible for the premature death of many of Uganda's orphans' parents. What a blessing this is to our struggling nation!

Its Almost Time for Back-To-School Festivities

As we prepare for the next school year, please do not stress yourself out! The new school year is an awesome opportunity to start fresh, even more so than the new calendar year. We also ask that you help spread the word about Uganda and how they can help our ministry heal hearts and souls there.

I hope this is starting out as a wonderful week for each and every one of you!

Duke University Training

The hospital in Uganda is excited about the Duke University training they have been receiving.

For those of you that don't know, I spoke at a church in Raleigh NC a few years ago. There, Dr. Michael Haglund was moved by my message and was interested in helping Uganda. I took him to Kampala where he attended Christian Life Church and visited the hospital there. His eyes were opened to the struggle of these people. He then devoted himself to helping improve the hospital system there and in other struggling nations of the world. He donated millions of dollars worth of equipment and regularly helps with training personnel and staff there to provide better medical care to a nation that greatly needs it!

For those of you that know Dr. Haglund, please remind him everyday that he is apreciated. We cannot say enough great things about Dr. Haglund and the work he has done to help others. Thank you, Dr. Haglund for helping us achieve God's will.

Refusing to be Refused!

Refusing to be Refused!

In modern days, we call this desperation. Do you know what could happen if we engage in desperate prayers?

In the days of the Bible, Judges 6:9-10 talks about the children of Isral refusing to take no for an answer from God. They took their prayers into overdrive and prayed desperately. The answer finally came. God finally came through.

Let's take our prayers to the next level. Let's desperately seek God's help in turning lives to Christ and helping the poor and suffering of the world.

Merry Thursday!

Today's Weather

I woke up this morning at it was around 89 degrees! Wow! We may think that the weather here is just like Africa, but really it isn't. In Africa, the mornings are around 60 degrees. And the high is usually around 90 degrees. But, the heat there is dry heat.

I am not complaining! I am very thankful that God blessed us with rain and a "cold" front last week. It is so nice to see green grass in the end of July and beginning of August.

This afternoon's heat is making 89 degrees feel cold though :) Everyone stay safe out there!

Inspiration from Job

I was reading Job this morning, and I was inspired. There were a few things that really put me back in my chair.

I admire Job's:

- tenacity to not deny his integrity in midst of his calamities

- resistance of negative influences even from his closest friends

- faith in God to see better days even after his challenges

These three characteristics should be part of our lives everyday. This month, let's strive to create good habits and use Job as an example for our fortitude and faith.

Happy Wednesday!

Intimacy with God

The other day I heard a speaker talk about intimacy with God and how we need to give him a full sway to rearrange our lives, motives, and destiny. He siad this word "intimacy" means "into-me-see." It reminds me of what I usually say with I challenge God's people in the areas of prayer, purity, and destiny.

I challenge them to pray a prayer like this: God, what do you think when you think about me? I am sure he has good thoughts about you. Reference Jeremiah 29:11-12.

I also believe some of these thoughts include rearranging your life according to His priorities.

Let that be your prayer today!

Pastor Jackson Senyonga

We need your support!

This has been true with Christian Life Ministries. When we first started over twelve years ago, no one knew then that this group of 7 people on a limited budget with limited friends serving in a country full of limitations could become a blessing to literally millions of people. We should never undermine the power of a seed, the power of God's promise! Through prayer and submission to God's leadership, Christian Life Ministries, has been graced by God to reach at least 10 million people everyday through its outreach ministries. The only one who deserves credit for this is God. How great thou art!!

It is nothing about us; it is all about Him!

Please pray for our cause and our growth so that we can continue to touch the lives of others with the news of Jesus Christ.

Progress with UKids

The UKids Team with the Abundant Life Church Short Term Mission Trip to Uganda was finalized today!

They wired 50 of our orphan homes in Seeta with electricity. They installed electricity and water in our kitchen, increased our water production capacity, and installed outdoor playground equipment. They taught the members of Christian Life Chruch, our leaders, the kids, the mothers, and much more!

They caught the flight today for their return. Please join us to thank God for such willing hearts who give selflessly each year for the Cause of Christ and the children.

In representation of our orphans and the entire Christian Life Ministries team, thank you so much to all of you that have contributed to this effort.

Have a beautiful Tuesday,

Pastor Jackson Senyonga

"The Lord is my portion"

Do you realize that just having "a portion"... a little bit of God can overwhelm and meet all of your needs.

David said, "The Lord's my portion in the Land of the Living" (Psalms 142:5)

Isiah said this when he saw the glory of God in the temple: "The train of the Lord filled the temple." The train is considered as the last part on like the bridal garment, which simple means just a little bit of God revealed is more than enough to fill up the whole temple.

Consider asking a little more of him on a daily basis!

God Bless,

Pastor Jackson Senyonga

Last Friday

Last Friday as you all know, I returned to Austin to speak! For a Friday night during the summer, we had an amazing crowd turn out! It was much bigger than the last time I spoke on a Friday night in Austin! We prayed until close to midnight! Thanks so much to everyone who came out! It was truly an amazing night!

This Upcoming Weekend

This weekend I am looking forward to returning to Wichita Falls, Texas to speak Sunday morning! I enjoyed my time here the last time I visited so I can only pray God lets this return trip be just as incredible! I ask for you to pray with me that God will be able to speak through me this upcoming weekend!

East African Students Receive Much Needed Scholarships!

This year, 20 students from Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania will receive much needed scholarships to help them better their futures! All of the students are incredibly bright, but are needy, and without the scholarships, may not have the best opportunity to go to school! The scholarships go to students who wish to study business, food science, information technology or engineering!

Children's Vision

Every Saturday in the Children’s Vision section of Ugandan newspaper, New Vision, there is a picture for children to color or paint for the Sadolin Colour Your World Competition. One boy, Joel Mwesigwa, a primary school student, painted the picture and won big! Sadolin awarded Joel a check for sh200,000 for school fees! Every child in Uganda could use a prize such as this one and Joel is very thankful as he mentioned how much this was going to help his parents pay for his schooling in the next year! It’s great to see children taking part in something positive and participating in activities such as art!
