The village was buzzing with anticipation as the new children were bused into the area. They arrived carrying what belongings they may have had; if they had any at all and holding their dreams and hopes for a better future in their hearts.
Prior to them arriving, stacks of mattresses, beds, and mounds of bed linens waited for the big day. It was a sight to see as the children busied themselves moving beds, bedding, linens etc into their new homes. The new house mums immediately took to heart their tremendous responsibilities of raising these children and could be heard talking to administration making sure that "their" children received all that they were due. Pastor Eve Senyonga said, "It touched my heart to see these woman take on the responsibility; they were taking care of these children as if they were there own."
Pastor Jackson Senyonga, who was rescued before being put into a trash heap himself many years ago, has a special place in his heart for these children. It was because of his humble beginnings that this ministry was birthed and now almost 1000 children's lives are changing. What Jackson says is true, " Today's Orphans are tomorrow' leaders!"
