While browsing through some recent news articles concerning Uganda, I happened to find one I thought was very interesting! Although this article is a bit dated, it just made me happy to see something so positive happening. Uganda placed a ban on plastic bags due to their negative impact on the environment and even their ability to spread malaria. This alone is a good thing, but Ugandans have turned it in to so much more. Outside of Kampala, people started taking the old plastic bags and turning them into beautiful baskets, handbags, and other things such as this! Good stuff!
